The device’s full functionality is only available when the Outlet is paired with a hub. Reliability is not dependent on popular technologies like Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, ZigBee, or Bluetooth.

In contrast, the Ajax system uses a reliable two-way radio protocol based on the proprietary Jeweller protocol. It provides block ciphers and device authentication for each communication session with the hub to prevent tampering, spoofing, or data theft.
